I’m not nice but
1.
I forgive people easily.
Forgiveness is free. You don't have to do anything out of the ordinary, all you have to do is say sorry and make sure you mean it. As the passage says "forgive those who trespassed against us". Besides, I don't want to burden myself with my anger at someone, unless they did something really shitty at me.

2.
I rarely say no.
I rarely say no from someone asking a favor or invitation. Sometimes I just couldn't say it, no, I'm not a "yes" man but I know the feeling of disappointment and rejection when someone says no to me and I just don't want to let them down.

3.
I'll never say I'm too
busy to listen.
Though I'm always available to my significant other regardless of time, place or what I'm currently doing I never want my friends to feel alone as well. I always think that they may have no one else to turn to so even if I'm busy or going through something myself, I still have time to listen to them because I know how it feels to be alone.

4.
I try to understand
someone from their own perspective.
We will never know what is running from someone’s head, and sometimes things aren't what they seem. And the only one who knows the truth or what's happening is that person himself.

Why it isn't nice to be nice sometimes?
1.
Nobody asks if you're
alright.
Just because you're not saying anything doesn't mean you're okay or you're fine with everything. Some might think that you can handle things pretty well, that you're strong just because you are the one they turn on to when they need someone. But we have weak spots too, and they think we can manage, but no, we can't. Sometimes we just fall and it takes a while for us to get up.

2.
You get taken for
granted.
Friends, family, lovers, colleagues or whoever it is, at some occasions won't even bother to ask what you think about anything because you never say no. They will only think of you when it's convenient. And when they're back on track, you're back on the sidelines.

3.
You get disinterested
replies when it's your turn to turn to them.
We do have those weakest moments sometimes and when we try to turn to someone to listen, they'll just pretend to be there but their mind is elsewhere and we all know if someone doesn't want to listen. They'll tell you to "just get over it" or "it'll be okay" like it doesn't matter to you at all. But it does. And it really sucks if they start telling you to just get over it so you can just shut the hell up.

4.
You get to be called a
pushover.
People will tell you not to be one because you're being too nice, but what they didn't know is that sometimes they are already treating you like one.

5.
People will think that
you understand and they'll just throw everything at you.
Nope. We're only human, our patience and understanding has limits. The only person that I knew who has an endless patience is God, and the last time he got pissed-off a guy named Noah needed to build a big-ass boat just to save a pair of everything.

6.
We get to keep
everything we go through to ourselves.
Because we don't want to burden everyone and we don't want them to carry the weight that’s already holding us down. Because sometimes, maybe they don’t want to. Maybe it’ll be too much for them because they already have their own burden to carry.

7.
Some thought that one
sorry can fix everything.
Yes. Imagine band-aid, it’ll cover the wound but won’t stop the bleeding. Just like our heart, pride, honor or whatever we hold dear. Sometimes, along with a little effort; sorry is much better. Just goddamn mean it!

You see, it isn’t nice to be nice sometimes
because in our grand pursuit to fix every broken people or thing we encounter,
it is us that get broken in return. We give too much of everything to someone,
may it be friends, family or lovers that in the end we ourselves come up empty,
lost and broken. We got soaked and drenched while we watch those f*****s dance
in the rain with our own umbrella.
